Gewinnen Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

Depending on how you use Gewinnen, we may collect account information such as username, display name, password authentication data, email address if provided, account settings, profile preferences, rank/rating information, moderation status, support requests, and security/audit records.

When you use Discord-based features, we may process Discord identity information such as your Discord user ID, username, display name, avatar reference, guild/channel/activity instance context, and OAuth authorization results needed to authenticate you and connect you to the correct Activity session.

2. Gameplay and replay data

We collect gameplay data such as game creation settings, player assignments, board states, moves, actions, augments, terrain selections, chat separation metadata, turn history, outcomes, timestamps, replay data, exports, computer-opponent decisions, and training samples.

This gameplay data may be used to operate the game, provide replays, troubleshoot issues, improve rules and balance, detect abuse, and train, evaluate, or improve the Gewinnen computer artificial intelligence.

3. Chat, moderation, and support data

Player chat, spectator chat, lobby chat, direct messages, support tickets, moderation logs, timeout/ban records, and related reports may be stored and reviewed for safety, moderation, audit, support, and abuse-prevention purposes.

4. Technical data

We may collect technical data such as IP address, browser or client information, request logs, timestamps, device/session identifiers, error logs, WebSocket connection data, security events, and rate-limit records. This data is used to operate, secure, debug, and improve the service.

5. How we use information

We use information to provide accounts and authentication, run matches, synchronize game state, support Discord Activity play, display leaderboards and public game information, provide spectator/replay/export features, train and improve the computer opponent, moderate chat and conduct, prevent abuse, secure the service, respond to support requests, and maintain reliable infrastructure.

6. No sale of personal information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not operate Gewinnen for advertising resale or data-brokerage purposes.

7. Sharing and third-party services

We may share or process information with service providers that help operate hosting, databases, email, logging, security, or Discord integration. These providers process information for the service, not for selling your information.

Discord features are subject to Discord's own terms and privacy practices. When you launch Gewinnen as a Discord Activity, Discord may process information according to Discord's policies.

8. Public information

Some information may be visible to other users, such as display name, avatar/initials, rank/rating, online presence, lobby membership, game participation, public/spectatable games, chat messages in shared areas, and replay information if a replay is made available.

9. Data retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to operate the service, preserve game history and replays, train and evaluate the computer opponent, comply with moderation/security needs, resolve disputes, and maintain backups. Some records may persist after account closure where needed for security, moderation, legal, or integrity reasons.

10. Your choices

You may choose not to provide optional information, may stop using the service, and may request help with account or privacy concerns through the available support/contact channel. Some data, such as gameplay records or moderation logs, may not be fully removable if needed to preserve game integrity, safety, security, or audit history.

11. Security

We use practical technical and organizational safeguards to protect information, including server-side validation, authentication controls, rate limits, and security logging. No online service can be guaranteed completely secure.

12. Children and age suitability

Gewinnen is intended for users who are allowed to use online game and Discord services under the rules that apply to them. If you are not permitted to use the service, do not use it.

13. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the service changes. Continued use after an updated policy is posted means you acknowledge the updated policy.
